Green smoothies are all the rave these days, when I first heard of them I immediately assumed green smoothies had to taste bad in order to be healthy…although some are, I slowly learned that they can be healthy and delicious at the same time with a little bit of creativity and research; It really helps to actually learn the healing and powerful properties of various fruits, veggies and seeds, with all this info you can put together a pretty awesomely healthy concoction. With trial and error I’ve become a bit of an expert in avoiding MOST of the bitterness of green smoothies because well…yuk. I have a really bad gag-reflex to bitter tastes in my mouth, so I always try to keep my smoothies smooth tasting, no pun intended.
Here’s one of my all time favorite nutritious and delicious green smoothie recipes, I hope you enjoy it.
1 cup H2O
1/4 cup chopped celery
1/2 cut peeled and sliced cucumber
1 nickel size slice of ginger root
1 cup spinach
1/2 cup papaya
1/2 small Apple
2 tsp chia seeds
1/2 squeezed lemon
