A diaper cake isn’t really a new concept when it comes to gift giving, however I feel like diaper cakes definitely need to make a come back nowadays given all these new trends in the baby having world.
Saturday I lost my Gender Reveal Party virginity y’all! It was a blast and I was very excited to finally attend one, however I was quickly troubled with whether or not I should buy a gift. I asked around and most people shockingly said no and although they may have been right, it just didn’t quite feel right to me to just show up empty handed. After hours online asking Siri & googling what to gift I came to the simple conclusion to gift the parents to be the old-but-still-very-much-needed case of diapers. Being this over the top person of course I simply couldn’t grasp the idea to just buy a box of diapers and hand it off…I mean how boring right? I decided to make a diaper cake & showcase my pretty & unique gift damn it! I have to say, when I walked in with it, at least 4 different people thought I was holding an actual cake, which is definitely a testament of my faux diaper cake decorating skills. Sadly, I didn’t quite think to take pictures of the process, mainly because you have to be really crafty with your hands in order to line up all the cakes & then roll them into a perfect circle but I’ll share what I have. This is a super cute and unique way to gift baby diapers at a gender reveal part, hospital visit or even baby shower. I feel like the point of gifts is to make people feel good, loved and thought about, so make your gift wrapping pretty, gift them the sight of a nicely put together gift esthetic, let what’s inside be just a bonus. I hope this post inspires you to gift away pretties all summer long 😉 Happy crafting.
Supplies used for this diaper cake:
1 box of Pampers new born diapers
Burlap ribbon (2) – Dollar store
Dollar store flowers
To secure your roll of cakes, tie them off with some twine or ribbon. Then secure decorating accents with baby safety pins…pun totally intended 😉
I have a current obsession with the color yellow….so when I saw these little cuties at the dollar store I just knew I had to use yellow for this neutral diaper cake
I had left over diapersso I put those in a gift bag ( lower right hand side of the photo below)
