Today I want to share my little niece’s first birthday party because it has been one of my favorites I’ve ever done. We went with a bohemian vibe/Coachella inspired/festival theme because we wanted cute, unique and not too played out. My mom & I hand made every single decor and prop for this party and we had a blast doing it, like always.
For the main table backdrop we used artificial boxwood squares zip-tied together. The flowers are made from inexpensive tissue paper and the colorful woven baskets are all from the dollar store.

Green smoothies are all the rave these days, when I first heard of them I immediately assumed green smoothies had to taste bad in order to be healthy…although some are, I slowly learned that they can be healthy and delicious at the same time with a little bit of creativity and research; It really helps to actually learn the healing and powerful properties of various fruits, veggies and seeds, with all this info you can put together a pretty awesomely healthy concoction. With trial and error I’ve become a bit of an expert in avoiding MOST of the bitterness of green smoothies because well…yuk. I have a really bad gag-reflex to bitter tastes in my mouth, so I always try to keep my smoothies smooth tasting, no pun intended.
Here’s one of my all time favorite nutritious and delicious green smoothie recipes, I hope you enjoy it.
1 cup H2O
1/4 cup chopped celery
1/2 cut peeled and sliced cucumber
1 nickel size slice of ginger root
1 cup spinach
1/2 cup papaya
1/2 small Apple
2 tsp chia seeds
1/2 squeezed lemon
Enjoy this delicious smoothie! It’s healthy, yummy and very satisfying.
I love to start my morning with a nutritious breakfast, usually that includes eggs + other sources of lean protein, however when in a rush or when the groceries for some reason don’t get purchased before something runs out, smoothies are my go-to-meals. Sometimes I crave sugar first thing in the morning so I will whip up a naturally sweet smoothie like this deliciousness here. When I don’t crave sugar I will whip up a nutritious green smoothie like this one.
1 ripe banana
1 med/large mango
1 cup unsweetened coconut milk
1 stevia package (next time I’ll skip this as it was a little too sweet)
1-5 ice cubes
*add some chia seeds and cinnamon to spice it up a little*
I have a recipe for a super healthy and delicious banana avocado green smoothie. It’s easy and fast to make, did I mention it’s healthy? This smoothie will keep you full through your morning, or make it in the afternoon for a middle-of-the-day pick me up 🙂
1 small avocado
1 whole banana
1 cup organic baby spinach or kale
1 cup orange juice
Ice to taste
You can absolutely alter this to satisfy your taste buds like anything else; I use kale sometimes as well as chia seeds. The consistency of this recipe is more like that of a go-gurt, so add an additional splash of juice or water for a more liquid smoothie!
Healthy tip: Make sure your banana has as little brown spots as possible, when is is in between green & just barely turning yellow is when your banana is at its healthiest ( less sugar) 😉
